Lesson Overview

A brief summary of the lesson and the expected outcomes.

Overview n/a

Engaging Questions

The task asks students to show their "know how" on something important and challenging, not just their knowledge.

Engaging /
Essential Questions
What are Natural resources? How are Natural resources classified? What are some of the most important environmental problems concerning our natural resources today on earth? What are some envirnomental problems concerning our natural resources facing our local community? Are these problems part of a larger Global problem? How can these problems be solved?

Authentic Learning

The task reflects what people might actually do in the real-world; including real life issues, themes, and problems.

Activities n/a

Knowledge , Analysis , Comprehension , Synthesis , Application , Evaluation

Description Knowledge- Students will be able to define Natural resources. Comprehension- Students will engage in a general discussion about environmental issues. Students will engage in a general discussion of the environmental issues concerning our natural resources facing our local community. Application- Students will read 3 articles of their choice from varoius sources and using a graphic organizer they will organize thoughts, ideas, and opinions about environmental issues around the world from the articles. Analysis- Students will engage in research and review of literature about environmetal issues concerning our natural resources locally. Students will examine data coleted from surveys and prepare to complie data. Synthesis-Students will use the internet, related text , magezine articles, and other environemtal journals to develop a survey/questions to determine attitudes of family members, classmates, neighbors, teachers, and other members of the community toward specific enviromental issues concerning our natural resources facing our local community. Students will use Excel to create tables and graphs from the data colleted.
