Engaging /
Essential Questions

What does it mean to be responsible?  What are some ways to show good citizenship at school?  In public?
What are our rules for the classroom?  The cafeteria?  The bathroom?  The playground?
What would happen if we did not have rules?
What is the consequence for breaking a rule?
Do adults have rules?  What would happen if adults break rules?
Are there some rules we need and do not have at school?
How can we teach new people what our rules are?

Authentic Learning

The task reflects what people might actually do in the real-world; including real life issues, themes, and problems.

Activities

1.  Review the rules of the school and hold a class discussion (see engaging questions).
2.  Students will be divided into groups of 5 to cover all the rules on our campus.
*Rules in the classroom
*Rules in the hallway
*Rules in the bathroom
*Rules in the cafeteria
*Rules in the playground
3.  Students will choose which rule they want to add to the digital story.  (If it requires a student posing in the picture, then another student will have to take the picture.)
4.  Students will then develop their sentence narrating their rule.
5.  Groups will then meet with the teacher to import their pictures and sequence the pictures in the right order.
6.  Students will evaluate the final digital story and determine if it is satisfactory for others to view.
